Meet Scott Fleszar

Get to know SafeSend’s new Chief Operating and Strategy Officer

 

At the beginning of November, we welcomed Scott Fleszar as the newest member of the SafeSend executive team. Scott, our new Chief Operating and Strategy Officer brings with him many years of experience and a passion for exceeding client expectations. Now that Scott’s had a few weeks to get acclimated to his new digs, we wanted to give him a chance to tell you a little bit more about himself and what he hopes to bring to the SafeSend team. Take it away, Scott. 

Hello, SafeSend clients and broader community of users. My name is Scott Fleszar and I’m very much looking forward to meeting and getting to know many of you. By way of introduction, I should tell you a little about my background. Prior to joining the SafeSend team, I was with  Thomson Reuters from 1994 in their division serving CPAs and accounting professionals with software and technology solutions. During my two-plus decades there, I served in a number of different leadership roles—from running a client support center, to leading a marketing team, to heading up product management, and even spending some time at the Thomson Reuters Switzerland offices along the way. Across the diverse roles I held, one common thread bound them together: serving the profession and helping practitioners. No matter my purview, the fundamental concept of helping firms leverage technology to improve firm efficiency, elevate client service, and ultimately produce a healthier bottom-line was paramount. I bring this passion for helping people to SafeSend, and this includes my team, you, our customers, and also the clients you serve.

This laser focus on exceeding customer expectations and ensuring the voice of the customer echoes throughout all we do is what drew me to SafeSend. There’s so much that appeals to me about this organization, including its entrepreneurial spirit, vibrant company culture, and great people, but it certainly doesn’t hurt that I truly believe in the innovative solutions SafeSend offers. Our product and service lines present the all too rare win-win-win scenario. What do I mean by that? Well, first the firm staff win, because they achieve optimal workflow efficiency, especially surrounding tax return assembly and delivery, which allows them to perform at peak productivity. Second, firm leadership wins by driving down costs through replacing dated and inefficient processes with streamlined, digital workflow. Finally, the firm’s clients benefit from intuitive, easy-to-use digital tools that create a seamless client experience across complex document scenarios, like tax returns, efficiently and as if guided step-by-step by a virtual assistant from the firm. 

With my experience building and leading high performance teams, my near-term focus will  largely be on how we can scale our operations and improve our systems to better serve you. Given our growth trajectory, SafeSend solutions will be in-use across thousands of firms and touching hundreds of thousands of firm clients nationwide. It is important we maintain high service levels for our customers and continually monitor product and service satisfaction levels and strive for continuous improvement.  

That starts with listening to our customers. I had the pleasure of attending our first-ever users’ conference, the Tax Transformation Summit, as part of my first few days on the job. What a great way to springboard into my new role and really drill down on the client experience we’re providing. Do we need more integrations to make the entire tax return assembly and delivery process smooth and efficient? Can we add functionality that will provide even more value? What aspects of the client-side experience need improving? These questions are the type of dialog that I hope to engage in regularly, both with our customers and with our own internal team.
